For those somewhat jaded by neoclassical economics, six forthcoming events may be of interest.
The 7th Annual Conference of the Association for Heterodox Economics on the theme "Pluralism in Economics" takes place at City University, London, from 15-17 July 2005. A full list of the 72 papers to be delivered are available here (Word doc).
Meanwhile the Seventh International Workshop on Institutional Economics will be held at the University of Hertfordshire from 22-24 June 2005. The workshop is based on six papers/ speakers.
In the US the Union of Radical Political Economics (URPE) is holding its annual summer workshop/retreat from August 20-23, at Camp Chinqueka in Bantam, Connecticut. This year’s workshop will be focused on alternatives to "this brutal hegemonic world social-political-economic order".
The Ronald Coase Institute are holding a Workshop on Institutional Analysis at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain from September 17-22, 2005.
The 9th Annual ISNIE Conference - the annual meeting of the International Society for New Institutional Economics - will take place in Barcelona on September 22-24, immediately after this workshop. Its theme: the Institutions of Market Exchange.
Last but not least, the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy (EAEPE) are holding their 17th Annual Conference in Bremen, Germany, from November, 10-12, 2005. The conference theme is: "A New Deal for the New Economy? Global and Local Developments, and New Institutional Arrangements".
