A belated link, via Asia Pundit and Boing Boing, to the 500 Shanghai Homes website. Hu Yang has compiled a photo-study of 500 Shanghaiers at home, from paupers to billionaires, along with a short commentary from each participant on their lives. A fascinating insight.
Here is the commentary for Fang Minhua (Consultant) and Feng Jianfang (Office clerk), shown on the right:
Both of us used to work in foreign corporations and were overwhelmed by the work there. Therefore, we quit our jobs and started our own usiness. We've just started and therefore have financial pressure. We have to work hard to pay back the loan for our two apartments. We work seven days a week and can't afford employees now. therefore, we have to do everything personally. Our hope is that we can have a good business.
