Dani Rodrik, professor of international political economy at Harvard University, delivers the Ralph Miliband Public Lecture on Making Globalisation Work for Development at the London School of Economics this Friday evening. This lecture "will ask what kind of global rules best permit and foster economic development, and compare those with the ones that are enshrined in current economic arrangements."

Can't make it myself, though it sounds like it would be a great talk to attend. The link provided goes to my blog which is on economic development - mostly with a focus on MicroFinance & property rights, along with articles on bureaucratic obstacles to starting new small businesses.
