The burgeoning development blogosphere

Pablo Halkyar is leaving the World Bank and the Private Sector Development Blog, and moving to NYU. In his farewell post he reflects on the burgeoning development blogosphere:

Today is my last day at the World Bank Group – so a good opportunity to reflect back on this blog as it approaches the one year mark. When Tim and I first started this blog we were not quite sure how much interest there would be in it. Since then I think we have surpassed our expectations as the blog now has thousands of readers each day and has stimulated some great feedback and ideas. During this past year we have also seen the development blogosphere continue to grow and improve. When we first thought about blogging, AdamSmithee was the only ‘development blog’ I knew of – today our blogroll nears 200.

For anyone interested in opinion and commentary on development issues, microfinance, social entrepreneurship, trade and development, conflict and reconstruction, corporate governance, ICT, or development aspects of healthcare or the environment, this blogroll is invaluable. I have added it to my Economic resources list. But of course your daily reading should start with the PSD Blog.

Thanks Pablo (and Tim Harford) for being one of the pioneers in this field.

Will someone explain to this blog novice how "more" is "better" ... like life after death, there is quality in the number of blogs?

Or is that an axiom uniquely of development bloggers?
