"It’s unabashedly biased and admittedly pointless."

Maybe the Nobel Prize committee should consider this idea: If there is no work that really deserves the merit, why not pass till some such comes along?

Only the media are really concerned about the Nobel Prize ... them and some academics who feel that such a knighting is an appropriate milestone in their career.

This comment bears a response. There is nothing "wrong" with Central Planning except a computer large enough to make it work and real-time data input. That system simply doesn't exist and probably never will. Whereas Smith's "invisible hand" works marvelously well, with no computer necessary except that already on-board in the human being.

The hand simply needs a wee bit of assistance in the form of "Prime Directives". That's all.
