It depends how work is defined. Most women cannot perform work that require physical strength equal to men, e.g. in transportation and construction. So, wages are higher in those jobs. Also, there seems to be low ratios of women in engineering, economics, mathematics, computers, and many high-paying professional jobs. Of course, most men wouldn't want to be a nurse (RN) or a nanny, although those are high-skilled jobs.
